Nature

Climate, Atmosphere, Water, Earth, Mountains, Hills, Minerals, Oceans, Rivers, Glaciers Day and Night Temperatures, Flora and Fauna etc. collectively known as Nature and they are very delicately balanced. If we resort to rampant and indiscriminate exploitation of resources this fine balance is disturbed and we are facing the phenomena such as Green House Gas Effects, Global Warming, El-Nino, La-Nina, Tsunamis, Hurricanes, Cyclones, Floods, Droughts and Famines, Earth Quakes etc., which are having direct and indirect adverse impact on socio-economic conditions of the public more drastically on the people at the bottom of the pyramid leading to losses in Agriculture and Allied Activities in particular and on the whole economy in general.

Education

Education

Education

Once India is known for its higher learning through its centers of excellence such as Nalanda, Taxila, Pataliputra and various Gurukulas dotted across this vast subcontinent who taught us to understand and accept concepts such as “Let the Noble Thoughts come from all corners of the World” and taught and exhorted us to follow the saying “Whole World as One Family”. We have excelled in Philosophy, Astronomy, Medicine, Metallurgy, Music, Arts and Crafts, Construction to name a few. Peasants, Artisan and Crafts persons excelled in their work and produced exquisite products and services which were exported to far flung nations across the seas and lands.
Currently though there are certain centers of Excellence generally our system of education is mediocre and degraded due to the petty politics, corruption, nepotism and various ills corroding the vitals of our Education System. A lot is desired in the areas of Training of Trainers, Infrastructure, Interaction with other Institutions of learning, Industry and Academic interactions, very specifically in the area of Research and Development. We are unable to create Thinkers, Philosophers, Leaders, Visionaries and Statesmen. Policy, Discipline, Direction and proper Vision is what required to address the evils of our education system.

Health

Health

Human Development Indicators of our country are much to be desired in terms of Education as well as Healthcare. We have a piquant situation w.r.t. major health indicators such as Child Mortality, Pregnancy/Delivery Deaths, Malnutrition, and Stunted Growth of children, Child, Women and Senior Citizens health. We are way behind in eliminating or arresting the drastic diseases such Tuberculosis, Malaria. Diabetes, Heart and Neuro Disorders. Vector borne diseases are rampantly on the rise. Neither we are able to prevent nor cure/control the menace of unhealthy situation of the nation. Mere efforts of the Governments are not enough, having said that our Public Health system has to be fortified in terms of Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Health care. Sanitation and hygienic status has to be developed to cope up with the standards of developed nations to prevent communicable and other diseases.

Agriculture

Agriculture

Though the share of Agriculture contribution to GDP has declined it is a Great Cause of concern since there is no corresponding migration of labor to Manufacturing and Services sector took place since increasingly vast number of rural masses comprising Marginal and Small Farmers, Poor Peasants, village based Artisans and Craftsmen depending on the shrinking pie of the GDP. Thus economic stress is accentuated resulting in reduced or stagnant living standards of the vast masses depending on the Agriculture.
Our Prime Minister has given the call to double the Income of farmers. But how? There are solutions but who is going to bell the Cat? Our Productivity levels of Agriculture and Allied sectors are awfully low as low as ½ to 1/5th of average International Production and Productivity levels.
We can tweak in certain methodologies and technologies such as Organic Farming, IPM-Integrated Pest Management, Micro-Irrigation, and Use of Digital Technologies to forecast Weather, Wind, Soil Moisture, Rainfall, and Humidity. Cultivation Practices, Input Management, Crop Management, Harvesting, Storage and Post Harvesting practices to be done on individual as well as collective basis to have the advantages of scale of economy on scientific lines.
